Abstract: 

The SleepTimeā„¢ substance abuse monitor is one of a new generation of alcohol and other drug abuse monitors that permit 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week alcohol and other drug abuse monitoring. This article reviews the clinical knowledge gained from leading sleeps studies on the impact of alcohol on sleep and the development and use of SleepTimeā„¢ system, a wrist-worn device, to remotely detect and report on the use of alcohol or drugs.
