Abstract: 

Mileposts is our regular review of new statistical data, research findings, and noteworthy events and milestones in the fight against drunk, drugged, and distracted driving. This issue examines new data on nighttime seatbelt use rates; the use of “Safety Enforcement Zones” in channeling non-compliant drivers without interrupting traffic flow; and proposals to make a new automatic emergency braking technology a standard feature in cars by 2022.
