Abstract:
Motorcycle crashes are a leading cause of post-combat military stateside deaths. Alcohol affects those skills essential to riding a motorcycle—balance and coordination—and plays a particularly big role in motorcycle fatalities. The Lewis Henry Morgan Institute at SUNY Utica recently mounted a portable forensic exhibit exploring the underlying data, causes, impact, and solutions for preventing these tragic fatalities. Keywords: PTSD; motorcycle accidents among combat veterans
