Abstract:

According to the Jed Foundation, approximately 90% of those who die by suicide at any age have a diagnosable mental illness, frequently depression. Therefore, it is essential for student affairs or counseling professionals to identify students with mental health problems and to arrange for them to get treatment. The Framework contains a comprehensive list of important questions that colleges must answer for themselves regarding suicide prevention.
