Abstract:
From the lessons learned from practice and from evaluation of that practice, I think we can note that effectiveness in community corrections hinges on some basic factors. These factors include careful management of the stages of community reentry that involve appropriate assessment of the offender’s capacity to change, case planning geared to reducing recidivism and integrating the offender into the community, use of appropriate interventions that reference different models stressing change as well as compliance, and a continuing process of evaluation of the progress the offender is making. JCC seeks to find and publish articles that assist the practitioner in developing effective practices in working with offenders. Keywords:
