Abstract:

The pandemic reminds us that it is always the marginalized and most vulnerable in our society are hardest hit when catastrophe strikes. These members of our population are also those who are more likely to be service recipients of reentry and social services. In this brief note, journal editor Donald Evans points to three areas that need our focus as we emerge from this crisis—rethinking reentry’s dependence on government contracts; including public health as a priority for reentry; and putting client needs front and center.
