Abstract:

The International Community Corrections Association (ICCA) and the National Criminal Justice Association (NCJR), realizing the importance of a collaboration that will enable both organizations to improve their efforts at affecting public safety issues and ensuring the pursuit of evidence-based justice, jointly sponsored a forum on criminal justice this fall. This article surveys this first joint conference, with the overall theme “Moving Criminal Justice Forward Though Research, Policy, and Practice” was held in Arlington, Virginia, on September 15 through 18, 2019. The conference attracted more than 500 participants, including a number of international representatives from countries such as Canada, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and Guam.
