Abstract:

Over recent decades, a good amount of progress has been made regarding the proliferation of effective correctional strategies and treatment programming. At the same time, there is still considerable work to do. This discussion is intended to present clear recommendations regarding specific areas that should be targeted for improvement when it comes to delivering correctional interventions. Now that the field is at least somewhat clear on “what works,” it is time to focus on “what’s next” (or should be next) when it comes to risk, need, and responsivity assessment and correctional staff hiring.

Keywords: What works, correctional strategies, treatment programming, RNR assessment, correctional staff hiring
