Abstract:

The International Community Justice Association dedicates this issue of the Journal of Community Justice, formerly the Journal of Community Corrections, to Donald Grant Evans, who served as the Journal’s executive editor for approximately two decades. As Don steps down from his editing duties, which have significantly enhanced the scholarship of criminal justice literature and reflected favorably on the International Community Justice Association, Randy Shively and Kimberly Sperber, who have assumed responsibility for this Journal, are indeed facing a challenge of maintaining the high standard established by him. In paying tribute to Don for his incalculable contributions to the criminal justice and social service systems, the issue reviews from the point of view of his colleagues, and examines in depth some of the issues that animated his work as editor, including effective measures and methods of reentry, employment, and desistance from crime.

Keywords: Criminal justice system, community corrections, Donald G. Evans tribute, servant leader, international initiatives
