Abstract:
Foundation grantees are obviously disappointed when their grants are discontinued or when a new grant application is rejected. Occasionally, this disappointment can lead to litigation, as happened in a recent case, Matter of the Ruth Easton Fund, a Separate Fund of the Edelstein Family Foundation Trust, 680 N.W.2d 541, 2004 Minn. App. LEXIS 596 (6/1/2004). There the court found that, on the facts presented, the granting foundation was justified in suspending grants to the grantee, but not in redistributing the grant funds to an alternative grantee. Keywords:
