Abstract: 

In this technological age, family foundations and their advisors often encounter people with a plan to accomplish one thing or another through some novel application of Internet communications. Some worthy souls have found ways to accomplish charitable objectives in this fashion. But, as investors found out when the recent bubble in tech stocks burst, the mere fact that some project involves the Internet is not enough to make it a success.
