Abstract: 

Both of the two principal legislative packages of interest to charities and their advisers— the big charitable package passed by the Senate last year and the estate tax repeal/reform measure—may be foundering as this issue goes to press. However, negotiations are ongoing and may burst out at any time, possibly in connection with a pension bill that has been lingering for quite a while.
