Abstract: 

On September 8, the IRS and the Treasury Department released new regulations designed to streamline government approval of organizations applying for taxexempt status as publicly supported charities. The new rules are designed to reduce the burden on IRS and to help taxpayers, who often misunderstood the complexities of the former system.
