Abstract:
As a foundation’s assets decline, the immediate effect is to reduce the foundation’s financial strength, as with any other investor. Private foundations are, to some extent, selfadjusting, in that they typically have a percentage payout rate rather than the sort of fixed obligation that can result in a much more serious impact. To some degree, they do self-adjust, but that is not enough to protect a foundation from various other challenges. This article reviews some of those challenges.Keywords:
