Abstract: 

This issue reviews educational and religious institutional responses to sexual abuse, European experience with civil commitment and preventive detention, advances in male sex offender risk assessment, and recent literature on sex offender registries, community-based programs, and aspects of offender empathy, or lack of it, as a predictor of recidivism.
