Abstract:
Despite some early haggling over constitutional concerns when DNA sampling initially hit the courtroom arena, mandatory DNA sampling among convicted felons has become routine in every state. Even the retroactive application of sampling requirements to offenders convicted prior to the effective date of various state laws, which raised Fourth Amendment and Ex-Post Facto questions, have been handily overcome by proponents of sampling. Keywords:
