< previous article |next article > |return to table of contents

Abstract:

This is the fourth article in a series as John Furlong takes the reader through the legal process of a civil rights lawsuit challenging aspects of sexually violent predator legislation in New Jersey. Prior articles in the series have addressed the conditions of confinement, the highly suspect process for getting committed in the first place, and the difficulties faced by offenders once confined. This installment focuses on the difficulty that former offenders face in receiving judicial review of the entire SVPA scheme once confined.
