Abstract:
Registration and community notification laws are constantly evolving. The Civic Research Institute publishes a compilation of state and federal laws related to registration and notification, which is updated every 18 to 24 months. This compilation, Registration and Community Notification: A “Megan’s Law” Sourcebook, contains the laws, guidelines, and case law related to Megan’s Law federally and in every state. (To order, go to http://www.civicresearchinstitute. com/co15b.html.) The purpose of the book is to keep academics and practitioners up to date with the regulations of the law as well as case decisions that relate to constitutional issues and regulatory guidelines. Because the courts assess cases so regularly, however, we have decided to create a column in the Sex Offender Law Report that provides updates of caselaw as it happens. This edition of SLR provides nearly a year of updated case law. The cases are presented in alphabetical order rather than by state/issue.Keywords:
