Abstract: 

When I first began my tenure as editor of the Sex Offender Law Report in early 2004, I wrote an article entitled “The State of Sex Offender Laws and Research: Where We Have Been and Where We Are Going.” (5 (2) SLR 5 (Feb./Mar. 2004).) The purpose of that article was to provide an overview on the status of laws pertaining to sex offenders. Nearly four years later, I would like to assess what has happened since, and where we seem to be going now.
