Abstract:

The Center for Sex Offender Management (CSOM) was created in 1997 to “enhance public safety by preventing further victimization through improving the management of sex offenders in the community.” (Center for Sex Offender Management (CSOM); http://www.CSOM. org/.) Though the organization achieves its mission in a variety of ways, one goal has been to disseminate up-to-date information regarding knowledge and research on the sex offender population. Over the past decade, CSOM has produced approximately 20 policy and practice briefs and numerous training manuals and curricula that can be utilized by individuals or large jurisdictions. The organization has become a key resource for both policymakers and practitioners, as well all academics and the general public.
