Abstract:
A unique opportunity for learning and engaging in polarity management will occur as part of the annual civil commitment summit, which is sponsored by the Sex Offender Civil Commitment Programs Network (SOCCPN), an association of professionals involved with civil commitment program management and service provision. Although organizationally separate from the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abuse (ATSA), SOCCPN holds its summit in conjunction with the ATSA conference, which this year will take place in October, in Atlanta, GA. A full-day Polarity Management Workshop will be facilitated by the authors as part of the SOCCPN Summit. We hope to convene a workable group of approximately 25 knowledgeable individuals who are interested in facilitating their personal growth and moving the field to a new level by identifying and exploring the polarities shaping our work and interactions. Keywords:
