Abstract: 

In our regular review of the research literature we examine “Patterns of Childhood Sexual Victimization in Michigan: MICR 2013 Report” by Gregory Drake, M.S., & Edmund F. McGarrell, Ph.D. published by Michigan Justice Statistics Center (2015) the authors of the current study analyze available NIBRS data to focus sexual assault rates of child victims in Michigan; “The Influence of Aggressiveness on Rape-Myth Acceptance Among University Students” by Manpal Singh Bhogal & Stacey Corbett published in Psychiatry, Psychol., & L. (2016) the authors of the current study hone in on how aggressive-leaning behaviors and attitudes affect university students’ acceptance of rape myths; “Psychological Treatment of the Paraphilias: A Review and an Appraisal of Effectiveness” by William L. Marshall & Liam E. Marshall published in Curr. Psychiatry Rep. (2015) examines some of the treatments used to treat paraphilia disorders and their effectiveness; “Advocacy Tactics and Policy Outcomes of Sex Offender Rights Organizations” by Erin Comartin published in 14(3-4) J. Policy Prac. 231-55 (2016) explores whether the rights of sex offenders and their families are often overlooked or explicitly ignored in favor of perceived public safety; “The Sexual Victimization of Men in America: New Data Challenge Old Assumptions” by Lara Stemple & Ilan H. Meyer published in 104(6) Am. J. Pub. Health e19-26 (2014) examines data showing men are frequent victims of sexual assault and factors that may promote rape myths about male victims.
