Abstract:
Although gangs are not usually what comes to mind when sex offenses are brought up, sex trafficking has received a substantial boost from increased gang involvement. In our regular review of the research literature we examine “Gang-Controlled Sex Trafficking” by Michael J. Frank and G. Zachary Terwilliger, published in the Virginia Journal of Criminal Law. Also reviewed are “Bringing Adam Home: The Abduction That Changed America” by Les Standiford, with Detective Sergeant Joe Matthews, an account of the long route to finally solving the missing child case that led to The Adam Walsh Act; and “Juvenile-Sex-Offender Registration: An Impermissible Life Sentence” by Robin Walker Sterling, published in the University of Chicago Law Review. Keywords: Sex trafficking and gangs; Adam Walsh; Juvenile Sex Offender Registration
