Abstract: 

Our regular review of the research literature this issue covers “Global Overview of Sex Offender Registration and Notification Systems” by the Office of Sex Offender Sentencing, Monitoring, Apprehending, Registering, and Tracking, a look at other countries or their territories that (have or may) legislatively instituted sex offender registries or similar systems; “Rape and Sexual Assault: A Renewed Call to Action” by The White House Council on Women and Girls and the Office of the Vice President (2014), the prevention and recognition of sexual attacks, particularly against women, becomes an issue of national priority; “Who Pays for Sexual Assault Exams?” looks at a study of state and local compliance with the requirements under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) for cost-free medical forensic exams; “Cultural Barriers Among American Indian Populations in Reporting Sex Offenses” explores the reasons why despite the fact that American Indian women report the highest rates of sexual violence they have less access to services and assistance than communities of women of other races.
