Abstract:

A recent appeals case before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania examined several cases applying SORNA to juveniles. The appeals challenged the constitutionality of lifetime registrations imposed upon seven juveniles. The court’s ruling was an indirect blow to SORNA, finding that Pennsylvania’s imposition of lifetime registration on juveniles violated due process and the state constitution’s fundamental “right to reputation.”
