Abstract:

What kind of remedy can a victim of cyber-pornography get when the Internet has a perpetual memory and distribution of images can extend around the world in a very short time period, with no way to ever retrieve the victim’s image from all recipients? A child pornography victim is suing her father and others under “Masha’s Law,” the federal law that allows such victims to seek financial remuneration for their exploitation. This article reviews the provisions of the statute, and its application in several civil suits brought by victims of child pornography against their exploiters.
