Abstract:

Here is a rare bit of good news coming from someone who has been keeping us well-informed about changes in the legal landscape for battered women and their children. As Barry Goldstein points out here, protective mothers’ cases have been steadily gaining attention, not only among the public but among allies both within and outside of the domestic violence movement. There are men like him, and organizations like NOMAS, which he helps to lead, that have taken up the protective mothers’ cause. He emphasizes ways men can fight against the systematic sexism that promote the shocking injustices and harms that are routinely afflicted upon our society’s most vulnerable members.
