Abstract:

Steven Stosny is the founder of The Core Value Workshop, an intensive, skill-building group for partner and child abusers, designed to be integrated into a coordinated community response to family violence. In this article, Stosny describes his approach to healing what he calls “attachment abuse,” which, among other things, causes people to hurt those they love. His solution involves helping abusers to recognize their inherent goodness and to reclaim themselves as human beings who are intrinsically compassionate.
