Abstract:
While most stalkers and victims are adults, there are also numerous stalking cases involving children and adolescents. Author Mary P. Brewster offers insight into the prevalence and incidence of stalking among youth. She examines theories of stalking that point to the causes of what the author cites as a “variant of intimate [partner] violence.” She includes suggestions aimed at improving society’s detection of and response to stalking among young people. Keywords: Dating violence; bullying; pursuit behaviors; children and adolescent victims
