Abstract:

The beginning of this article examines data for people we don’t expect to find: female perpetrators of sexual assault and their male victims. Cook-Daniels goes on to explore reasons why this data is not better known and what forces might be contributing to an undercount of male victims and female sexual assault assailants. The article wraps up with a sidebar listing resources available to such victims and the professionals who serve them.

Keywords: transgender survivors, male sexual assault survivors, elder abuse, Comprehensive Sexual Assault Assessment Tool
