Abstract: 

This article reviews events leading to the arrest and conviction of Dr. Robert Hadden, a highly regarded gynecologist and obstetrician who worked at Columbia University’s Irving Medical Center from 1993 to 2012 and at other institutions before that, including New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Based on an investigation by the District Attorney’s office that compiled reports from former patients going back decades, Hadden has been described as “probably the most prolific sexual predator in New York history,” with estimates of the number of his victims at roughly 245. The story was originally reported in a podcast by investigative journalists Laura Beil and Bianca Fortis.
