Abstract:

In this original article, Adam Kuhn, J.D. discusses a phenomenon that has recently, and deservedly, been in the public eye: the perpetration of domestic violence by major league professional athletes. As an industry, major league baseball (MLB), in particular, has a spotty history as far as responding appropriately to such behavior. Besides providing a comprehensive and in-depth review of this disturbing reality, the author offers some thoughtful recommendations to the MLB industry that would go a long way toward decreasing the frequency of such objectionable behavior among its players.
