Abstract:

Branch, Johnson, and Dretsch describe the rising tide of revenge porn, a new form of sexually aggressive behavior made possible by recent advancements in internet technology and the prevalence of social media. What exactly defines revenge porn? The authors clarify the definition of this troubling phenomenon while addressing the myriad ramifications for its victims. While several states have attempted to crack down on the issue, most still have a long way to go in creating a solution that is sensitive to the victim’s needs.
