Abstract:

In light of the shocking prevalence of sexual assault on our nation’s college campuses, campus police officers are faced with a sobering array of responsibilities. How prepared are these officers to handle the many tasks entailed in effectively responding to sexual assault victims? The authors report on an in-depth survey of campus law enforcement officers, measuring knowledge, training, experience, and skills for handling rape cases among officers in the state of Texas.
