Abstract:

What happens when the increasing bank of best practice strategies that assist schools and communities in helping children diagnosed with autism to be socially and academically successful is coupled with a program that actively involves input from all stakeholders, including students, parents, teachers, supervisors, and administrators? Putnam County, Tennessee is an encouraging example of a successful implementation as it dedicates its resources toward the creation of a program with strategies that are generalizable to the wide range of ASD characteristics.
