Abstract:
The Child and Adolescent Treatment and Preventive Intervention Research Branch at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) funds and conducts research aimed at developing effective and safe treatments for children and adolescents with mental illness. Treatment research produces the information on which “evidence-based” treatment practices are based. There is a current need for research both to test the effects of interventions already used in the community, but without adequate evidence of efficacy and safety, and to develop and testnovel, more effective treatments. Keywords:
