Abstract:
This paper describes the innovations that Ohio University’s Youth Experiencing Success in School (Y.E.S.S.) Program is making in its training program to facilitate the development of competencies needed to succeed in collaborative, interprofessional practice. It reviews some of the unique challenges related to rural practice—highlighting the importance of rural training experiences and technology for recruitment and retention of professionals in rural areas—and introduces important concepts associated with the expanded school mental health service delivery model. Finally, it describes the evolution of the Y.E.S.S. training program. Keywords:
