Abstract:
This panel brought together experts on casino and gaming industry and its prospects as they related to municipal bond issuance and revenues. Panelists included Keith Scwher, Director of Center for Business and Economic Research, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, who provided an overview of Nevada and the Las Vegas economy as well as the role, clearly, that gaming plays—a declining role. Lawrence Klatzkin, Senior Vice President, Equity Gaming and Leisure Analyst, Jeffries & Company, examined the business fundamentals of Las Vegas casino and resort companies. Andrew Laub, Executive Vice President, VCAT, discussed Indian gaming, its growth potential and its impact on the non-sovereign gaming, focusing primarily on California. Jesse Smith, First Vice President, Hanifen Imhoff, A Division of Stifel Nicolaus & Co., examines how tribal casinos (and other Native American Projects) are typically financed.Keywords:
