Abstract: 

This article is a brief summary of certain aspects of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act as it applies to the municipal securities market. The summary consists of brief excerpts from the author’s recent book, From Turmoil to Tomorrow—The Emerging New World of Municipal Finance, and discusses the Act as it pertains to the structure of the MSRB, the regulation of municipal advisors, the rating agencies, and to derivatives.
