Abstract:
This article is a brief case study presented by the mother of a bullied child. Patricia Donaghy is a turn-around specialist for private and publicly held corporations and a consultant to small businesses. She is a parent of three children who all attend public school.This case provides insights regarding both effective parental response and effective school protocols for addressing bullying and includes a remarkably well-articulated and useful sample letter from a parent, whose child is being bullied, to a school administrator—a sample that can be adapted and applied by similarly situated parents.Keywords: harassment, bullying, coaching, parent involvement, communication
