Abstract:
This regular column presents short reviews of a wide range of subject matter, giving readers signposts about future directions of research related to teen behavior, methods of monitoring or coping for authority figures, and the growing appreciation for interdisciplinary perspectives on teens. Topics covered in this issue include “real time” experience and teen relationships, impact of touch on prosocial development, developing mindfulness in youth, the impact of community violence on children and teens, promising techniques for improving students’ self-control and IQ, and the SaferSanerSchools Whole-School Change Program.Keywords: prosocial development, mindfulness, violence reduction, school safety, self-control, community violence
