Abstract:

For the first time the federal government is funding Jewish Women International (previously B’nai B’rith Women) to undertake a major public awareness campaign about domestic violence in the Jewish community. The campaign, Project Ohr (which means light in Hebrew), has already produced several valuable products such as a brochure and palm cards in English and Russian. It has produced two resources by Diane Gardsbane, Embracing Justice: A Resource Guide for Rabbis on Domestic Abuse in the Jewish Community and Healing & Wholeness: A Resource Guide on Domestic Abuse in the Jewish Community.

Keywords: International Conference on Domestic Abuse in the Jewish Community; a Russian- English manual, Guide on How to Achieve Financial Security in the United States
