Abstract:
This first-person account of a case of incest reluctantly prosecuted by the State of Arkansas will stand, the author asserts, for the principle that incest survivors deserve the same protection the criminal law grants to other victims of sexual assault. If we lose, the case will underscore the distance yet to be traveled before victims of incest can truly be said to enjoy equal rights. Keywords: Estate of Macias v. Ihde; Thurman v. City of Torrington; central argument: that allowing victims to demand equal protection from prosecutors — just as victims may clearly demand equal protection from police
