Abstract:
Women who are victims of domestic violence, and women who are suspected of being victims, know all too well the scenario where the victim is victimized further by those who are supposed to protect her, and is made to feel like a criminal herself. In the case of Camreta v. Greene , 563 U.S. ____, 131 U.S. 2020 (2011), however, the person who was interrogated was not an adult woman, but a nine year old girl. The author of this article discusses this case in which the mother sued the interrogators of her daughter for violating her rights. Keywords: Supreme Court avoids constitutional question; Nicholson v.
