Abstract: 

This article reviews important new legislation in California, Tennessee, Washington State, and North Carolina giving victims and prosecutors more tools to prevent and prosecute domestic violence. Reforms include improved access to medical evidentiary exams for victims; housing protection; independence for rape and DV counseling offices from Title IX offices; debt relief; mandated DV training for hair stylists; GPS tracing; mandatory batterer treatment; prohibitions in NC against competing court orders; and protective order expirations.
