Abstract: 

The first of a series of articles that review how European countries in general and the United Kingdom (UK) particularly have reformed their domestic violence policies, laws, and law enforcement in recent years. This article summarizes the broad context for these reforms, the Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence (CETS No. 210), 1 commonly termed the “Istanbul Convention”.
