Abstract: 

The New Jersey Supreme Court held that Divorce and Tort issues during a marriage should Be Joined. In contrast, in Kennedy v. Kennedy, 924 S.W.2d 579 (Mo. Ct. App. 1996), the Missouri Court of Appeals held that the legislature specifically mandated that all proceedings under the Missouri Adult Abuse Act are “independent of any proceeding for dissolution of marriage.”
