Abstract: 

This research review summarizes the major findings and conclusions of the Vera Institute of Justice, Center on Victimization and Safety report “Sexual Abuse of Children With Disabilities: A National Snapshot”, by Nancy Smith and Sandra Harrell, 32(7) Child L. Practice 105 (Jul. 2013), and three reports on a critical case involving abuse of disabled workers, and its disposition: the NPR report “A “Wake-Up Call” To Protect Vulnerable Workers From Abuse”, by Yuki Noguchi, National Public Radio (May 16, 2013); “Jury Awards $240 Million for Long-Term Abuse of Workers With Intellectual Disabilities: Historic Verdict Against Henry’s Turkey Service for Men Subjected to Verbal and Physical Harassment, Housed in Substandard Facilities, Denied Medical Care”, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission; and the article, ”EEOC Scores $3.4M Win in ADA Suit Over Abused Workers”, by Ben James, Law360 (Jun. 12, 2013).
