Abstract: 

Elder financial abuse has been called the crime of the twenty-first century. From vacation and retirement dwelling scams to predatory annuity and reverse mortgage schemes, there are many ways in which the elderly can be taken advantage of. Indeed, while seniors are targets, anyone can fall victim to these crimes. This article surveys some of the most insidious financial frauds now extant, with helpful guidance for detecting and preventing victimization.
