Abstract:

The last Washington Report column summarized the final activities of the 108th Congress, including those related to the Elder Justice Act and the federal budget for fiscal year 2005. It also discussed, among other things, the activities of the 109th Congress and the Administration’s budget proposal for fiscal year 2006. This column provides an update on the Elder Justice Act and the Elder Justice Coalition, address the status of bills that were introduced earlier in the year, and discuss bills that were introduced since the last column was written. Additionally, this column provides some about reauthorization of the Older Americans Act and the 2005 White House Conference on Aging.
